This note summarises the total number of ICU beds that the available sources give for the pandemic period and, where the sources allow it, how many of them are linked to private facilities. What the sources can support
The sources do not give one single final figure for “the whole pandemic”; they show how capacity developed at different points in time. The safest reading is that at the start of the crisis Greece had 565 ICU beds in total, that capacity then rose to 1,143 beds in November 2020, and that later the Ministry of Health spoke of a more than doubling of ICU beds.
